GOOD STUFF As one of the better known drummers in the Los Angeles area, Dave Ameele fronted a jazz group beginning in 1990. His album “GOOD STUFF” (on the DLA Music label) featured Bruce Babad and Rob Lockart on saxes & flute, Bobby Rodriguez on trumpet & flugelhorn, Larry Koonse on guitar, Tom Warrington on bass, and Kevin Ricard on percussion. The band featured a potent mix of contemporary and standard jazz with original compositions, presenting a compelling and swinging performance. All of the music was arranged by Dave Ameele. He used Ayotte drums, Ayotte & Gretsch snare drums, DW hardware & pedals, Bosphorus “Hammer” & Sabian HH cymbals, Aquarian drum heads, and Vater sticks on this album.
